CHICHARITO, ESCUDERO, FERNANDO AND DE JONG DISCOVER THEIR ANCESTORS THANKS TO MYHERITAGE

A few weeks ago, four Sevillistas took a very special test. They did a simple DNA test from MyHeritage, a Sevilla FC sponsor. Their results could not have been more surprising, as they found out the percentage of their genes which correspond to each part of the planet.

From there, the research into their ancestors was also surprising. One of the players had a great-great grandfather who was decorated for fighting against Napoleon at Waterloo, one is descended from a painter and another had ancestors who needed special permission from the Pope for their marriage. These questions and more were answered, giving them a new perspective on their family history. In the case of Chicharito and Escudero, MyHeritage were able to trace their family history back 12 generations, to the 17th century.
