The Mexican side maintained their third position in the group looking ahead to Qatar 2022 on the eve of welcoming their closest challenger Panama on Thursday

Jesús Corona was involved from the start in the goalless draw between Mexico and Costa Rica in the early hours of the morning. The Sevilla attacker played 74 minutes in the clash in which neither of the two sides could break the deadlock.

Following the result, Gerardo Martino's side find themselves in third place in Qatar 2022 qualification, with their next match set to take place next Thursday against Panama at the Estadio Azteca.
