Yassine Bono and En-Nesyri played out the full ninety minutes in Morocco's third-place play-off with Croatia (2-1). The game was intense from the get-go with Croatia opening the scoring seven minutes into the first half through Gvardiol. The Moroccans were quick to reply two minutes later through Achraf Dari's header Mislav Orsic gave the Croatians the advantage once more just before halftime.
Although Walid Regragui's side pushed to send the game into extra time, a lively Youssef En-Nesyri was unable to convert a last-gasp chance to bring the tie level late on in the second half. Despite conceding two, Bono can leave Qatar with his head held high after some exceptional performances against some tough international opponents. Morocco end the tournament in fourth place.
