On Wednesday evening, Sevilla centre-back Jules Koundé made his debut for the French national team. On his first call-up for the reigning world champions, the defender played in the second half of the friendly match against Wales in Nice, France's first friendly ahead of EURO 2020. Koundé replaced Benjamin Pavard at the interval, just before Griezmann doubled France's lead. Mbappé had already opened the scoring against a 10-man Wales in the first half, with Dembelé adding a third late on. France are back in action on Tuesday, against Bulgaria at the Stade de France.
Luuk de Jong was also in action, as he too came off the bench. He played in the final five minutes of the friendly between the Netherlands and Scotland at the Algarve Stadium in Faro. The striker replaced defender De Vrij as the Dutch sought an equaliser. They got the draw a few minutes later, thanks to Memphis. The Lyon player had also equalised in the first half too, while Hendry and Nisbet scored for Steve Clarke's side. The Oranje will next play on Sunday, against Georgia in Enschede.
