DIEGO CARLOS: "I'M DELIGHTED TO PLAY AND WIN MY FIRST DERBY"

"It's easier to win games than lose them when they're by your side"

Diego Carlos was one of the players who spoke to the media after the victory over Betis in the Villamarín. Firstly, the Brazilian said that the victory was "three very important points. I'm delighted and hope that this allows us to continue approaching games in a similar fashion. In every game you have to suffer a bit as the other team can play as well; but we were focused today and didn't take our eye off the ball".

He aslo spoke about his first experience of the derby: "I'm delighted to play and win my first derby. It's a mad derby and it gives me a lot of strength. I hope that, in the next derby, we'll be able to pick up the three points too".

Showing how united the dressing room is, Diego Carlos wanted to underline the role that De Jong plays: "I'm certain that he's going to score, more so because he is a great striker and he works hard as well. We have to be patient, but that was one of the best goals you're going to see in La Liga".

To finish off, he took time to thank the support from the fans on the night, and as well as their day to day support: "I knew my responisbilities and that I had to make a difference. I like to step out of my comfort zone and I'm very happy at this club. The fans can rest easy knowing that Diego Carlos is going to give 100% for Sevilla FC. It's easier to win games than lose them when they're by your side".
