The Sevilla FC centre-back played yet another full game against Egypt as Brazil qualify for the semi-finals against Mexico

Diego Carlos is just one hurdle away from winning a medal at Tokyo 2020. The Sevilla FC centre-back was key again, playing the full game as Brazil beat Egypt. Brazil, the reigning champions after winning gold at Rio 2016, won thanks to a Matheus Cunha goal in the first half.

Brazil will face Mexico, who routed South Korea, on Tuesday at 10:00 CEST. Japan and Spain will play on the same day at 13:00 CEST. The two winners will have a medal secured in the final, while the two losers will have a chance at bronze in the third-place play-off.
