Sevilla FC have been drawn against CA Osasuna in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey. The game will be played next week, between Tuesday 24 and Thursday 26 January, at the Estadio del Sadar in Pamplona, The Navarrese side have reached this stage after previously eliminating CD Fuentes, CD Arnedo, Club Gimnàstic de Tarragona and Real Betis, all away from home.
It will be the eighth time that Sevilla and Osasuna have met in the cup and the first time that they have played a single leg match. Since the last sixteen meeting in the 1928/29 season, the record is three wins for Sevilla FC and four for Osasuna. Sevilla FC won the first three but since then, Osasuna have progressed through, in 1988/89, 1999/00, 2002/03 and 2004/05. The last two games were also in the quarter-final round.
Jorge Sampaoli's side face their sixth quarter-final tie in the last ten editions of the competition and their 14th so far this century. If they go through next week, they would reach their 22nd cup semi-final in history and their tenth so far in the 21st century.
