EN-NESYRI REACHES A CENTURY OF GAMES IN THE SEVILLA FC SHIRT

The Moroccan attacker reaches this century in a short space of time, having overcome a long injury that kept him sidelined recently.

In yesterday's game against FC Barcelona, Youssef En-Nesyri, who came onto the pitch in the second half, reached game number 100 in the Sevilla FC shirt. In doing do, Youssef adds himself to a select list of players that, this season, have reached a century of games, such as Gudelj, Munir, Óliver Torres, Koundé... The Moroccan striker, who would arrive at Sevilla FC in the winter of the 19/20 season from CD Leganés, has reached a century of games with with the club in a short period of time, just two years and two months, in which he has accumulated a total of 33 goals and three assists.

With an injury that kept Youssef sidelined for many weeks, along with his involvement at the African Cup of Nations with his country, meant his presence as number one striker has been somewhat obstructed. Currently, the striker sits on three goals and two assists in sixteen matches in LaLiga, along with a further two appearances in the Champions League. To break down all the stats in all the competitions, the Sevilla attacker has appeared on 72 occasions in the league, ten in the Champions League, seven in the Copa del Rey and another ten times in UEFA Europa League and once in the European Supercopa against Bayern Munich in Budapest. 

The Moroccan registered a total of 24 goals last season; 18 in LaLiga and 6 in the UCL

The 20/21 season was En-Nesyri's best season for numbers, where the centre-forward found the back of the opposition's net a total of twenty-four times, eighteen in LaLiga and six in the Champions League. During this period, the hat-tricks against Real Sociedad and Cádiz in consecutive match days at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán standout, making him the first player in the club's history to reach such a feat. The performances of the number 15 have earned him a regular place in his national team side, who for the first time have earned themselves a place at the World Cup later this year, and providing there are no setbacks, En-Nesyri will be in Qatar this coming winter in the Moroccan jersey.
