Youssef En-Nesyri notched his quickest career brace against Real Sociedad on Saturday to secure another crucial victory. It was his third double for the club, having also scored twice against 'La Real' in the league and against Krasnodar in the Champions League in the 2020/21 season. On both of those occasions, En-Nesyri needed three minutes to score his brace, however, this time, he helped himself to two crucial goals in as many minutes to put Quique Sánchez Flores's side firmly on course for victory. The Moroccan thereby improved an already impressive record when playing against Real Sociedad in a Sevilla shirt, one which now stands at seven goals in eight matches.
Moreover, En-Nesyri's latest brace mean that, on an individual level, the striker has already surpassed his total of nine in the entire 2022/23 season. He now has 66 official goals for the club, putting him just one behind Héctor Scotta, Kevin Gameiro and José Carlos Diéguez, who are in joint-sixth place in the list of our highest foreign goalscorers. Furthermore, surpassing the aforementioned trio would make him the club's fifth top scorer in the 21st century, with only Frédéric Kanouté, Luis Fabiano, Álvaro Negredo and Wissam Ben Yedder ahead of him.
Currently the club's fourteenth highest scorer of all-time, it is also worth noting that the two goals on Saturday were the Moroccan's seventh brace for Sevilla and his second this season after a recent double in the 2-1 win at Vallecas. En-Nesyri also has three hat-tricks, including one against La Real in the 2020/21 season, making Real Sociedad his most fruitful opponent since joining the club in January 2019.
