Julien Escudé (Chartres, France, 17/08/1979) has joined the Sporting Management team at Sevilla FC. From January 2006 until the end of the 2011/12 campaign, Escudé played at centre-back for Sevilla FC, and he now arrives back to the club as part of the Sporting Management team. Said team is led by Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo, Monchi, who deems it very important to keep an eye on and control those players who are on loan from the club. Escudé's job title is therefore: the 'Loan Manager'. This season, Sevilla FC have 11 players out on loan: Aleix Vidal at Alavés, Corchia at Espanyol, Carlos Fernández at Granada, Sergio Rico at PSG, Kjaer and Arana at Atalanta, Gnagnon at Stade Rennais, Amadou at Norwich, and Juan Soriano and Roque Mesa at Leganés.
With his arrival in the sporting business side of operations, Sevilla FC continue to reinforce their 'behind-the-scenes' team with ex-players who made a name for themselves and were symbols for the club. For instance, in July, former captain Fernando Navarro returned to the club, again as part of this Sporting Management team. In his trophy cabinet, Escudé has a remarkable two UEFA Cups (2006 and 2007), a European Super Cup (2006), two Copa del Rey's (2007 and 2010) and a Spanish Super Cup (2007). He played more than 230 games for Sevilla FC before moving to Turkish side Besiktas; which is where he finished off his playing career.
