Sergio Escudero, one of the captains of Sevilla FC for the 2018/2019 season, was the main guest on Tuesday night's episode of SFC TV's "A Balón Parado" with Roberto Arrocha. The full-back analysed the team's current form, sitting at the top of the table and also spoke about his elbow injury, from which he has almost fully recovered.

'It has been a tough few weeks because of the injury. I saw the clip of how the injury happened after they put my elbow back in place. I asked to see it out of curiosity. Fortunately, I'm already training with the team and it won't be long at all until I can get back to helping them. It's been very tough not being able to play. I'm going to play with a strap and an elbow guard and we're working to see what works best,' said Escudero about the injury he sustained in the match against Villareal at the Sánchez-Pizjuán.

Asked about the fact that he was unable to help the team for many matches, Escudero answered: 'It's very difficult not being able to play because you see your teammates in difficult situations like the one four or five matches ago. Then you're happy for them for their great effort in the last few weeks, which has taken the team to the top of the table for the moment, competing in such a difficult league where there are so many great teams. You feel very proud of those around you and to be at the club that you are.'

The effort that your teammates have put in over the last few weeks makes you feel very proud of them and the club that you're at

'One of the key things is to be united together, the fans and the team. This club is so big because of that. Apart from all the titles won, every match at the Sánchez-Pizjuán is spectacular. The people support and lose their voices because of their passion to help the players and the team. That is what makes Sevilla FC special,' commented the left-back about one of the most important symbols that the club from Nervión can boast.

Sevilla's captain praised the footballers that arrived in Nervión after role models such as Iborra, Coke and Pareja that, together with Escudero, have become symbols of the Sevilla dressing room: 'There are other players who arrive with the same desire to win and to do well as those important players who have now left. For example, Pablo Sarabia, Sergi Gómez or even those from abroad that come and adapt themselves very quickly because they know that the fundamental things here are togetherness and a good environment.'
