Sergio Escudero spoke on SFC Radio's 'Sólo el Sevilla' to go over how the team was doing. He began by speaking about the two days off the squad have enjoyed: 'We have played a lot of matches this season, it's as if we've played a full season already and the rest will help us after a tough week last week with the two poor results. We'll get some needed rest and be ready for the week ahead.'

The wing-back admitted the team was suffering many injuries, but he does not use it as an excuse: 'Everything adds together. We aren't having much luck with injuries, a lot of them are bone fractures which is really uncommon to have so more in a season. It's not an excuse because we have a large squad, but we've had better and worse moments throughout the season. We're in good spirits and ready to get back into training to prepare for the match against Eibar.' He made it clear that the squad was focused on moving forward: 'We have complete trust in our teammates, we're good players and people as well. We weren't so good before, nor are we so bad now; we trust fully in the group.'

Regarding the away form, he stated 'there is no explanation. We want to win away just as much as at home, though things are usually either with your home fans behind you. They lift you up in tough times, but in the last game we lost 1-0 after missing a couple of chances which would've changed the game. Every team goes through good and bad streaks. We mustn't overreact and we will go out to win every game.'

Personally, he said 'the elbow injury stopped me right in my tracks but I'm working to get back to my best and I've only got some muscle pains which are normal in the middle of a season.' Finally, he spoke about the UEL: 'We love it, we're really excited to play in it but, first, we have to focus on Sunday to win the three points.'
