Our clear commitment to technological development has turned the club into a market-leader in mass data management and app-development. This led LaLiga to invite a Sevilla FC delegation to attend its event on the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in sport, which took place in Madrid last week. Like LaLiga, we have prioritised the use of AI as a pillar of our future plans, hence the continued reference to our business model as an example of success in this sector.
The driving force behind our technological advances was Esteve Rodríguez, our Data Department Project Manager, who took part in a panel reviewing the use of AI and its potential effectiveness in the world of sport. To date, we have developed our own technology that has been applied to all aspects of our business to great success. This is built on data-reliant tools and AI predictions that map out a blueprint for the club.
The event, organised by LaLiga in association with SportBoost, featured sports stars including former Olympic gymnast Almudena Cid, former Olympic athlete Chema Martínez, Pablo Fernández – the swimmer who hold six Guinness World Records – and Jorge Lorenzo, the assistant manager of the Spain men's national basketball team. Also in attendance were LaLiga president Javier Tebas, Iker Casillas, the founder of blossoming startup, SportBoost, and representatives from leading enterprises including Repsol, Microsoft, Telefónica and OdiselA.
