FERNANDO: "WE DIDN'T PLAY UP TO OUR USUAL STANDARDS"

The Brazilian spoke about the team's efforts after their first defeat of the season

After the 1-0 defeat against Madrid, Fernando assessed the team's performance: "The team feels down because we wanted to win today. We didn't play as we have done this season, but we'll keep our heads up and continue working hard".

The midfielder thinks the team did not respond in such a big match, and analysed reasons why they were unable to score: "We didn't play up to our usual standards, we needed to press more. We lacked aggression and desire. Today wasn't our day".

However the Brazilian is aware the season has just started, and that the team is still positioned well in the table and already focusing on the trip to Eibar: "On Thursday we have another match and we have to focus on it".
