AGOUMÉ: "RETURNING HERE WAS ALWAYS MY FIRST OPTION, IT WAS WHAT I WANTED"

Lucien Agoumé, our sixth signing of the summer transfer window, spoke in his first interview since returning. After playing on loan in the second half of last season and he was deligthed to be back in Nervión: "I'm very happy to return to a place where I was last year. It was a very easy decision, I'm very happy to be back here".

Agoumé did not hide his excitement at returning to Sevilla FC: "I'm really looking forward to it. Last year I met some very good people here, a very big club. I just wanted to come back here to continue being part of this club. With the teammates, management... I'm very happy to be here". He was also very grateful for the trust placed in him: "For me it's very important, so I want to thank the board, Víctor Orta, the president... the club for the trust they showed in me last January and now. It has not been easy to bring me here. Good things come to those who wait tI am very happy, I hope to be able to achieve very important goals. Last year I met some very good people here. I want to continue working with these people, with the club. I'm 22 years old, I want to continue to grow here and win together."

"I don't need time to adapt because I already know the environment, the people, the club, my teammates and the city" 

Having already got to know the club and the city, he assured on the other hand that he does not need to adapt: "I don't need to adapt because I already know the environment, the people, the club, the teammates and the city. It will be easier than last year. I hope to be ready as soon as possible. "I am ready. I've done the whole pre-season with Inter. I'm feeling good physically. I just need to get on the pitch with the new coach, learn what he wants and adapt to the new style of play," he continued. 

 With Sevilla always his first choice, Agoumé emphasised the happiness of his return on a personal level: "Just a feeling of happiness. Coming back here was my first choice, what I wanted most. I am happy to come back, to see the staff and the training ground. I can't wait to get started." With a view to being able to communicate with his team-mates in the best possible way, the midfielder commented that he has continued to take Spanish classes: "I'm still studying because last year I started learning. I always have to improve to be able to speak with my team-mates or people in the city. I have continued to take classes to improve".

"I am really excited to return and can't wait to show what I can do" 

Agoumé also assured that he wants to demonstrate his readiness on the pitch with the new coach: "I'm coming back with more enthusiasm, more desire to show what I can do. Last year I arrived at a difficult time after six months of not playing regularly. Now I'm well prepared and ready to compete when the coach plays me." 

"We need everybody together for the season ahead"

To close he valued very positively was the club's transfer activity: "I've seen the transfers. They are important and very good players like Saúl and Sambi. Sow was already there last year. Suso, Peque... I think this year's squad continues to improve in order to compete because Sevilla always have to compete in all the competitions they play. That's what we're going to do this year. We've come from a very difficult year for everyone. This year we are starting with more desire to achieve better results".
