Thomas Delaney's Denmark continue to be in control of Group F in the World Cup Qualifiers. The Scandinavians had quite an easy night at the Parken Stadium, with the new Sevillista playing for 85 minutes. They beat Scotland 2-0 thanks to goals from Wass and Maehle in the first 15 minutes of play. Another win for Kasper Hjulmand's team means that they now have a five-point advantage at the top of the table ahead of Israel, Austria and Scotland. A win against the Faroe Islands on Saturday could leave the Danes in a very strong position half way through the qualifiers.
It wasn't such a smooth night for Jules Koundé, who despite starting as a right-back for France against Bosnia in Strasbourg, saw red after a bad tackle on Kolasinac at the start of the second half. The Sevillista was sent-off after 51 minutes, and ten-man France held onto a draw against the Balkan team. Dzeko put the visitors ahead after 36 minutes, but Griezmann equalised to eventually draw the game. France continues to be Group D leaders with a four-point advantage ahead of Ukraine, and six ahead of Finland who have two games in hand. Les Bleus will next face Ukraine in Kiev on Saturday.
Two more Sevillistas were also in action on the first day of the international break, with Serbia facing the World Cup hosts, Qatar, in Hungary. Despite it being a friendly match, Serbia put four goals into the back of their opponents' net thanks to an own goal from Khoukhi, and goals from Jovic, Vlahovic and Milenkovic. Gudelj had 56 minutes under his belt before being substituted for Torino Lukic, whereas Dmitrović was an unused substitute. Serbia remains in second position behind Portugal and a point ahead of Luxembourg in Group A. The match between second-placed and third-placed in the group will take place on Saturday at Belgrade. Sevilla players also have an opportunity to feature on Thursday in the game between Morocco and Sudan at 21:00 and Venezuela against Argentina at 2:00 on Friday morning.
