Ivan Rakitic, Lucas Ocampos and En-Nesyri spoke to the official media following the victory against Cádiz CF in Nervión. Speaking about the result at home last night, it was the goalscorer Ivan Rakitic who was the first to reflect upon the good result for his team, noting that "this is a moment to to enjoy ourselves, and I am glad I had the confidence to score the penalty. Today we were good in several areas and we deserved to win with the intensity we played at. It hurts a bit that the win did not come sooner than this, but we have to keep going, especially with the brilliant support we received from the fans today. We created several chances and they had many players defending, but if you are able to open the game up then the score won't stay level.

We had to give everything to move forward because this team has been working hard for weeks to try and improve our form. The team had to convert what we had done on the training pitch into the game today and so now we feel content and confident, because the result reflects the hard work we have all been putting in. This is very important, because today we also had a bit of luck on our side which we haven't had in the last few weeks. With this support behind us I think we can finish the year well, first by fighting to get into the semi-finals of the Copa when we face Osasuna, who we respect but we are excited to compete against."

Lucas Ocampos, who came on at the Sánchez-Pizjuán following his return to the squad, also showed his satisfaction with the result: "Very happy to return here, in front of our fans, with a very important victory for us all. I am speechless, and this is what we needed after a few difficult months. Today you saw a Sevilla that was constantly on the front foot, showing how we wanted to win with the help of the fans. We have got to keep working, as it is not going to be easy, but today Ivan managed to score and I am very happy. I have been doing double sessions in training to get myself ready, I got some minutes today and I have to keep on going... we want to win every game, starting on Wednesday which is a crucial game in itself, but also starts a period where we will have an intense set of fixtures."

To close, En-Nesyri also commented on the importance of today's win despite his failed efforts to score when he was on the pitch: "We have suffered, but you have got to stay strong until the end and I am thankful to my teammates and the fans for how they spurred us on. We clicked from the first minute and we will keep on improving to score more goals and gain more points. This victory helps us to gain confidence, move up the table and we are grateful for the fans' support today. I hope we keep on picking up points, next up we have the Copa, we are preparing well to win the game and put a smile on the fans' faces, as well as our own."
