Saturday's drudging against Barcelona wasn't a match of positives but statistics write their own story. For Jesús Navas - one of Sevilla's best performers playing on the right against Barcelona - statistics continue to paint a picture of a serial record-breaker for the Nervionenses despite the disappointment of the result. This Saturday, Navas was able to break another Sevilla record, becoming the player with more Sevilla finals than any other in history.
Saturday was his third Copa del Rey final (2007, 2010, 2018), adding to two UEFA Europa League finals (2006 and 2007), two European Supercup finals (2006, 2007) and two Spanish Supercup finals (2007 and 2010). His total now sits at nine finals, leaping ahead of four other players sitting on eight (Kanouté, Renato, Palop, Vitolo).
He still sits short of breaking Sevilla's record of most titles won, currently sharing that record with seven other players: Palop, Escudé, Dragutinovic, Adriano, Renato, Kanouté and Luis Fabiano. However, he can proudly boast the record of most appearances in a Sevilla shirt in the Club's 128-year history (436 as of today) and the most caps won with Spain while at Sevilla.
