If anyone thought that Jesús Navas's return to Sevilla was a golden retirement, they could not have been more wrong. The Sevilla star has not only maintained the traits that gave him his big move to one of the giants of the Premier League but at nearly 33 years old (he will turn 33 on 21 November) he continues to show signs of becoming a more complete footballer. Last season he was reborn as a tireless full-back and under Pablo Machín he has taken his game to new levels and has already racked up six assists and a goal in 13 matches under the new manager, most recently on Sunday with a pin-point cross onto the head of Pablo Sarabia.

With the game against Celta the Sevilla native has played no less than 450 official matches for Sevilla, with 57 already in his second spell at the club. On top of this, he has 91 assists and 38 goals in total, well ahead of any player that has worn the white and red shirt in the past. It already seems a long time ago that he played against Levante UD last December in Nervión, when he reached 416 matches and became the player with the most official matches under their belt for Sevilla FC, beating the previous record set by Pablo Blanco.

These appearances consist of 319 in La Liga, 54 in the Copa del Rey, 40 in the UEFA Europa League, 30 in the Champions League, five in the Spanish Supercup and two in the European Supercup. Apart from this, the pacey footballer nurtured on the roads of Utrera has amassed countless other landmarks, such as being the player with the most titles in the club's history together with Palop, Renato and Luis Fabiano, being the player who has played the most matches for Spain as a Sevilla player and many other records that he is set to break. One thing is clear: Jesús Navas will still be around for a while, to the joy of Sevillismo.
