Yesterday's match at the Estadio Martínez Valero saw one player reach a landmark number of appearances, with Joan Jordán featuring in his 100th match for Sevilla FC since his arrival in the summer of 2019. A key player for Julen Lopetegui, it took him just one year at the club to lift his first trophy as a professionalthe UEFA Europa League in Cologne. In recognition of his achievement, President José Castro and Vice President José María del Nido Carrasco presented him with a commemorative shirt

In his two years at the club, Jordán has featured in 72 matches in LaLiga Santanderseven in the UEFA Champions Leagueten in the UEFA Europa League, and one in the UEFA Super Cup. In terms of goals of assists, he has scored four and set up a further ten. 

His first season in Nervión suggested that his time at the club would not be in vain. In the 2019/20 season, he played in 34 out of the 38 league matches, scoring two goals and assisting another two. He played a key role in the UEFA Europa League triumphhis first winners' medal, with ten out of a possible twelve appearances in the tournament. He rounded off the season with three outings in the Copa del Rey.  

In his second season, last season, Jordán would improve on his numbers as he again became a key component of the side. After beginning the campaign with an appearance against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Super Cup, the midfielder was selected for 35 LaLiga Santander matches, with one goal and six assists, adding a further seven appearances in the UEFA Champions League and another seven in the Copa del Rey, where he also managed to score another. 

After featuring in the first two league matches of this season, last night's match against Elche CF allowed Joan Jordán to join the list of players who have made a century of appearances for the club
