José Ángel Carmona, after the announcement of his contract extension until 2028, was the main guest on 'El Cubo' alongside Roberto Arrocha. He expressed his happiness and satisfaction after signing his contract extension with his boyhood club: "This could be the happiest day of my life. It's what I've always dreamed of, signing my first contract as a professional player here and becoming a first-team player. I've been working since I was seven years old, and in the end, I've earned my reward.”

The academy graduate didn’t hide his excitement after achieving his dream since joining the Sevilla youth ranks: "I've been doing this since I was seven years old. They instill it in you from a young age. When you put on the shirt and defend it, it's different, you speak about something else. I've been able to achieve one of my dreams, playing at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. A dream I've had since I was eight years old. The most beautiful experience was winning the derby, the most beautiful day I've lived in football.” Additionally, he spoke about his journey to the first team of Sevilla FC, recalling with affection his return to the club after a year playing at Viso del Alcor shirt: "I knew I was going to return to Sevilla. I returned for Jesús Galván, and he is the person who made me keep training with his team. I was the happiest person in the world, I valued what it meant to be here upon returning.”

“I owe a lot to the coach, thanks to him all of this has been possible”

On the other hand, he highlighted the importance of García Pimienta in the current season and in the process of his extension: "I owe a lot to the coach, thanks to him all of this has been possible. I arrived and there was a lot of competition. The coach has trusted me, playing the full ninety minutes repeatedly. I always try to repay that trust. I am very grateful to him, and I will tell him in person tomorrow. He has a lot to do with this happening.” In that regard, he emphasised his self-confidence: "From the beginning, I knew it was a challenge and the competition I faced with four players in my position. I prepared myself, in football no one is more than anyone else, things are proven on the field. I've never had a problem, if I don't play, I'm here to help. Everything has gone well, with the minutes the coach has given me and with how things have gone on the pitch"

José Ángel Carmona also praised his teammate and captain Jesús Navas: "I've always admired Jesús, at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán I was amazed by him. He is a very approachable person, I spend a lot of time with him. The fact that Navas is the person I laugh and talk with is something I still can't fully grasp. I don't know how to explain it. I admire him a lot, for what he has achieved and as a person. He is someone you can talk to about anything, a top person."

"When I've played abroad, I've realised that Sevilla are respected for being a big team."

“We have to go for the three points. At home, to take points from us, they have to hurt us. It has always been difficult for them to take points from us here, we need to make it a fortress again. At the slightest effort you give the fans, they respond. We need to make the teams feel like they're playing in hell here. When I've played abroad, I've realized that Sevilla are respected for being a big team. We can't lose any points at home," he concluded about the upcoming league match against Osasuna.
