Sevilla FC's Chairman was the last person to evaluate Sevilla's away draw with Maribor and progression to the last-16: "The objective has been achieved, even if in truth it wasn't our best match (especially in the first half); but in the end we've had chances to even win. We only lost one match in the group phase and we have to put what we're achieving into perspective - not just in the league where we have one more point than last season but also in the cup and above all in the Champions League, where we're in the last-16 for the second year running".
The big question was who would come out of the draw as Sevilla's opponents: "Now we don't play until February, the months will go by and teams will change. We'll have to wait to see who we get - at other times we've got beatable opponents but not been able to do it. We might have to come up against a stronger team to progress - which is what we want".
Despite not being in Slovenia, Berizzo remained ever-present:"He's also sent me a message and we speak every day. We're all in the same boat in terms of the club, the squad and the coaching staff. That translates on the field, though I reiterate it has not been the best game".
