Sevilla FC Club Chairman, José Castro, who attended the Assembly of Spanish League Football Clubs on Thursday morning, made the most of his presence in a requests and questions period to formally complain about the schedules imposed by the La Liga for games against Eibar and Málaga. In both fixtures, the heat took centre stage at the expense of players and fans. The Club requested both weather forecasts and average temperatures be taken into account when scheduling fixtures in future.
Sevilla, who have also submitted written complaints, received the commitment by La Liga to consider these factors in games where the heat could dominate proceedings. The Assembly also recognised it was a mistake to schedule the aforementioned fixtures without taking possible rises in temperature into account.
