The LaLiga delegate committee, including club president José María del Nido Carrasco, wishes to express, following the complaint filed by Real Madrid CF against referee Martínez Munuera with the Discipline Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, its absolute rejection of the complaint filed by Real Madrid CF and to express unequivocal support for Mr. Juan Martínez Munuera and, by extension, the Spanish refereeing community.
LALIGA, in its firm commitment to eradicate all forms of violence, racism, xenophobia, and intolerance in football, in addition to carrying out numerous awareness and prevention campaigns, denounces before the Discipline Committee of the RFEF and before the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance in Sport of the CSD, all such forms of behaviour.
Therefore the Delegate Committee of LaLiga considers the complaint made by Real Madrid as yet another example of their relentless campaign undertaken against Spanish referees with the aim of pressuring them into gaining a competitive advantage with decisions made.
As indicated and confirmed by the Technical Committee of Referees, the conduct of Mr. Martínez Munuera was correct and has adhered to the regulations governing refereeing. Any other interpretation of the facts is simply false. Likewise, the Delegate Committee of LaLiga considers that any conduct that undermines the integrity of the competition should be avoided and good sportsmanship should be maintained. It therefore expresses its concern and rejection of this type of behaviour which goes against these values and which has been repeatedly carried out by Real Madrid CF.
