Lopetegui spoke about the intense week his team had just faced in La Liga: "The team have competed well in all games"

Julen Lopetegui spoke to the media after his side's draw against Atlético Madrid in Nervión. He said: "We worked hard, we competed and we could have won there. For sure, we were the better team for some parts of the game, and we finished the last 20 minutes strongly as well. You're never happy when you don't win, but we competed very well".

Following on, he spoke about the positive form his side are showing of late: "We tried to put a lid on the amount of chances that they created. In the first half, we did this very well and in the second half, when they scored this hurt us a lot, but then we recovered". He went on to say: "The team finished strongly, even with players playing out of position. We have to keep on working hard".

Lopetegui finished off by giving an analysis of the week on a whole, and is already looking forward to the trip to Luxembourg: "My evaluation of this week is that the team compete in every game and show good charatcer too".
