"I'm very happy for Suso because finding the net is important for his confidence"

Julen Lopetegui, Sevilla FC manager, was very satisfied with the win against Valencia at the Mestalla: "It's a positive outcome after nine years without winning here, against a tough opponent who even deserved to win against Barcelona. The team has shown character and rebuilt itself on the back of a tough situation. I'm happy with the attitude and the team's performance. We always tried to have control, but Valencia looked to shut up shop, but we reduced their strength and were capable of playing in their half".

He then spoke about Suso, the only goalscorer this evening: "I think Suso played well, but I would highlight all of them. When the team plays well everyone comes out feeling strengthened, but I'm very happy for Suso because finding the net is important for his confidence, but aside from that the team's performance is what's important".

Lopetegui also spoke about Jesús Navas, who was withdrawn before the end of the match: “Navas had a little knock, he felt something in his hip and we decided to bring on Aleix, who played very well towards the end of the match and that is also good news".
