MACHÍN: 'THE PLAYERS' QUALITY WAS DECISIVE'

Our manager underlined just how difficult the game against Sigma Olomouc was: 'We had to match them physically, which was very difficult since they've already played five matches in the league.'

Pablo Machín spoke with Sevilla FC's media after the game against Sigma Olomouc, with Sevilla coming out on top 1-0. Machín made reference to the great atmosphere in the home stands, 'everything was just right to push Sigma on... We were good in phases, we tried to keep the ball, we got down the wings but we weren't clinical enough.'

Machín emphasised that 'we had to match them physically, which was very difficult since they've already played five matches. I expected this, we knew how we had to play to cause them problems, but they did well.'

Sevilla's manager maintained that at the end of the day 'how clinical you are is decided by your quality' and 'decisive moments come from your determined and your ability as footballers.'

Finally, he spoke about Gonalons' performance: 'As we expected and knew, he's a very experienced footballer who needs to adapt a little bit to our game, but it's easier for him as a good footballer. He did a great job.'
