Pablo Machín paused to talk specifically about Tomás Vaclík during his press conference on Friday: 'There are situations with greater consequences because a video came out of the end of the match and the chat. It was logical to offer a gesture to a player that gave us so much and we all knew that he was having a difficult time with his personal life. Thos of us who are parents know what that means and he was fully determined to play. He had no doubts and he helped us, so it was logical to thank him for more than just the result. People don't know the inner details of the team, but if they did they would know that the players are very professional and they sometimes place the interest of the clubs ahead of their own.'

He also highlighted the readiness of the player to adapt as quickly as possible: The goalkeeper is a lonely position, it's good when you do well but you get a lot of stick if you don't. He was certain that he wanted to come here even though he still had a few years of his contract left at his club. He's learnt Spanish very quickly and he's very focused on studying because the communication with the defence is very important. Everyone is helping to make sure things go well and he has the quality but those around him are helping him to perform better. He is doing everything he can and the team will always be with him.'
