Pablo Machín attended the media after the draw against Atlético Madrid in Nervión. The coach highlighted the importance of this point: 'This draw may only get us one point, but they were very close to losing here. An incredible bit of quality got them their goal. We put in a really complete performance and we have to value this point.'
MACHÍN: 'YOU COULD SEE OUR TEAM SPIRIT TODAY'
The manager insisted in highlighting his team's great work despite the Atlético's equaliser: 'If any team was closer to winning it was us. We put in a great performance, it's just a shame about the freekick.' Even so, Machín could not hide his satisfaction with his men's performance: 'You can see the team spirit. We left it out all out on the pitch and while the team keeps showing that I'll be satisfied.'
If there's one player who always stands out it's the captain. The coach analysed the mercurial Jesús Navas' performance: 'Navas is a breath of fresh air for us. It seems as if he's the same player who started out here. He was a big player out on the pitch today and we hope he continues on like this.' At the same time, Pablo Machín ended by singling out a complete performance by Joris Gnagnon: 'Gnagnon had to get involved because we're going to need him. Today he fitted right into the team, I hope his injury isn't anything serious.'
