Idrissi and Aleix Vidal had big chances to put the Nervionenses into the lead
However, the second half was completely different. In barely fifteen minutes, Sevilla FC had three huge chances to break the deadlock at the Wanda Metropolitano. Aleix Vidal was the one who threatened most after the break, as he had one shot deflected wide for a corner, before having an even bigger chance from a Jordán cross, but Riesgo saved his header. Between those chance, Idrissi and Munir had combined perfectly on the left, allowing Idrissi to have an effort on goal, but Riesgo got down quickly to his left to deny the Moroccan's driven shot.
After that spell of chances, CD Leganés grew into the game, and, in the final fifteen minutes of time, began to test Bono, who had been a mere spectator up until this point. Sabin Merino had a chance on the left, but Diego Carlos made a vital intervention to keep the scores level. A minute later, from a corner, Pep Martí's side had another shot at Bono's goal, but the keeper had no problem keeping the ball out. The match, with no more chances before the full time whistle, headed for extra time.
Óliver's perfect ball found Ocampos, who beat Riesgo with a right-footed effort
Sevilla FC began extra time focused on scoring as soon as possible to secure the win, after finding themselves having to play another half an hour. The goal came within five minutes. Óliver Torres fed Lucas Ocampos in down the left, who broke into the box and found himself one-on-one with the keeper. He rolled the ball into the far corner, scoring the winning goal and breaking his duck for open-play goal this seasons. Bono then had his biggest scare of the match in the second half of extra time, as Rubén Pardo tried to score from the halfway line. The Moroccan was practically underneath the crossbar when he kept the ball out. That was the final chance of the game, and the Nervionenses will be in the draw for the last 16 of the Copa del Rey.
