After six matches, Sevilla Atlético were defeated in Group 4 of the Segunda RFEF. The team is now in a difficult position, as it needed a victory against this side who are trying to get promoted. The home side were able to claim victory when it looked as if the points would be shared. Despite Alberto Flores saving a penalty in the final quarter stages of the game, Pipo scored the winner with six minutes until full time. With only six matches left this season, the margen of error for the side has become even less.
The reserve side started bravely, trying to impose themselves on the opposition. After five minutes, Nacho Quintana ended an attacking move with a good shot that Rodri was forced to put behind for a corner. Midway through the second half, the home side responded with chances for Mikel Bueno and Ferrer, but Antonio Hidalgo's men seemed to have the situation under control. Our players were better in the opposition half, but Mar Menor grew into the game and the match was even at half-time. The home side were stronger in the second half, but Isaac had a good chance on the hour mark which he put over the bar.
A penalty was awarded to the home side after 72 minutes as Darío took out Pipo, presenting a golden chance for the hosts to take the lead. However, Alberto Flores reacted brilliantly to tip Morros' effort onto the left upright. Antonio Hidalgo made several changes, introducing Diego Talaverón and Ramón firstly, and then Oso and Leo a little later. Just five minutes were left on the clock and it seemed as if a 0-0 result was inevitable, but the hosts benefited from a slice of luck as Alberto lost sight of Pipo's shot, which secured the victory for the hosts. There are only 18 points to play for now for our side, and it is essential that we do not lose again. This Sunday at 12:00 is the next fixture, which will be a complicated one at home against Recreativo, with Johansson and Isaac unavailable through suspension.
