Joan Jordán was another who offered his thoughts on the Media Day organised by Sevilla FC and La Liga in the week leading up to Real Madrid. The Catalan midfielder spoke about the importance of the win against Granada. "After a win, the week is always better and it allows you to train in a better mood and environment, although always with the same professionalism. There are a couple of days left but we are hungry for Sunday to come because it is an important game." It is a game in which, as ever at home, the fans will be key. "The fans are always good. We know that there are moments in which they are needed but they always respond. We have to give them something so they can carry us. They are incredible. They give us very important support and we saw this on Friday but also throughout the rest of the season. The atmosphere on Sunday will be incredible and we have to make them identify with us and give them things because they will give us a lot."

It's a different game but with slight nuances: "It is different because you play against the leader. They are coming off the back of progressing through in the Champions League with a lot of confidence in a great season but they are three points just like Granada. For the fans there are games that are more eye-catching than others but we have to focus on what we can do well and attack the game, whoever we have to play. Playing against Madrid is always special and we are hungry to win." He also spoke about the fight in the league: "Our aim from the start of the season was to qualify for the Champions League and that is the reality. We spent the majority of the season in second and now we are third. It is all very open and we have had several draws that have allowed some teams to catch up but at the start we were winning while they weren't. In the end, we analyse everything but we are where we want to be and we are hopeful of achieving the aim. I am sure of what we are going to do and we will try to finish as high up as possible."

In a very difficult season in this aspect, every player who can be called upon is good news for the team: "Every player that we get back makes me very happy, firstly at a personal level because being out is difficult. It is great to see Lamela and Suso, who is very important to us and seems to be close to returning... We hope to continue getting players back because we are in the final run in and the more we can get back, the better." Personally, he said that he is having a positive season: "I feel good. In the last few weeks I feel I have been at a good level and personally it has been a good season in terms of learning and developing. I am playing a lot of minutes and I am grateful to the coaching staff. I am very happy here and I identify a lot with the values. I feel that I am coming on a lot as a player and although I know I am not 20, you look at Modric and feel like I have a lot left to give the club. We all have things to improve. I analyse things and I am going to continue working to try to improve because I am in a perfect club to do so."

Lastly, he spoke about the challenge of the opponent on Sunday: "You hear that they are not good but they are a team that are always there. In the last two years at home we haven't been able to do well against them. We were not happy with how we played and we have a bitter feeling. I am sure that Sunday will be different and we are going to take a step forward because in these games if you don't give everything, it's not worth it. Chelsea seemed to have the game under control but they were always there with excellent players. It is a difficult game because they come with confidence and good results but what concerns me most is Sevilla and it is a day to give everything and take a step forward. When the game starts we will respond and go for them."
