Mexico overcame South Korea this Saturday in Rostov, winning 2-1 and taking one step further towards a last-16 World Cup place. Layún, once again featured, playing a solid 90 minutes on the right wing.

Carlos Vela put Juan Carlos Osorio's side ahead from eleven metres before half an hour had been played. Then, Ochoa showed his own heroics to prevent South Korea from finding an equaliser.

Chicharito Hernández would then extend the lead on 66 minutes, bagging another goal for his tally in the competition. Mexico would see the result out despite a consolation from Son in stoppage time.
