MONTELLA: "WE COULD HAVE SCORED ANOTHER GOAL IN THE FIRST-HALF"

"I am certain that our fans will push us to the final”

Vincenzo Montella spoke to the press following Sevilla FC's first-leg of the semi-finals against Leganés. The Italian chose to be optimistic about the result, assuring the press: "I am extremely happy with the spirit shown by the players tonight. It's all to play for now and in the second leg the fans are going to play a crucial role".

That being said, the manager was disappointed because "in the first-half we could have scored another goal. In the second-half, following the equaliser, things were a lot more difficult. However, I am pleased with the spirit shown because the team really fought to win in the last 10 minutes".

He continued: "I am pleased with the spirit and the togetherness demonstrated by the team - we're growing more and more with each game. However, we need to show more conviction when it comes to scoring goals".

Montella brought the press conference to a close by discussing the upcoming second-leg and the role the fans will play from the stands: "I am certain that our fans our going to push us to the final".
