The pandemic has forced many fixture lists to be changed. In Africa, with the Cup of Nations taking place in January, their World Cup Qualifiers commence during the international break in September. This means that three of the four Moroccan internationals in the first team squad, Yassine Bono, Munir El-Haddadi and Youssef En-Nesyri, have been called up for the upcoming matches.
Morocco are in Group I, and their first match is against Sudan in Rabat on Thursday 2nd September. They are back in action four days later, with a trip to Conakri to face Guinea on Monday 6th. Guinea-Bissau are the other country in the group. There will be six matches in the group stage, with only the ten group winners progressing. In March, they will face a two-legged tie to earn one of the five places available for African sides at the World Cup in Qatar.
