Néstor José Pékerman has picked Sevilla FC's Luis Muriel for Colombia's next two matches with an eye on qualification for the Russia 2018 World Cup. The Colombian squad, currently second in the South American World Cup Qualifiers, face a double clash that could confirm their place in the competition next summer. Colombia will go to San Cristóbal to play Venezuela - who currently trail in qualification - on the 31st of August.

On the 5th of September, they will face already-qualified Brazil in Colombia. Muriel debuted for his country in 2012 and since has picked up 15 international caps, scoring one goal in a friendly against Guatemala.
