Muriel showed himself happy following the win against Athletic Bilbao: "I'm happy for the win and it keeps us in with the hope of fighting for the Champions League spots. We're going to give everything to try and achieve it".
On the way the game unfolded, he recognised the side let their levels drop slightly after the second goal: "Until we got to 2-0 we were very fired up and then being a bit more comfortable we relaxed a bit. We have improve that to kill games earlier but we didn't struggle at all and the match was always under control. The more goals we score, the better position we are in in the match and the more energy we conserve for the next one".
On a personal note, he did not hide his happiness for having found the net: "I really wanted to score because in earlier games against United and Atlético I had those chances that I couldn't finish off. I also hit the woodwork which weighed on me but I was able to find the goal and now have to continue. I'm sure games will come where I score more than one and I hope that's the case. He also talked about the defence and their sterling work: "Two games in a row without conceding and that gives us confidence and security for the next match, which is hugely important".
