THE ACADEMY'S GYM: SOMETHING THAT IS ONE STEP AHEAD OF ITS TIME

This facility is even designed to be able to change location once the announced comprehensive remodeling of the training ground is carried out

In just a few months, the training ground will undergo refurbishments in order for it to become Campus Deportivo Empresarial José Ramón Cisneros Palacios. The club, including of course with its work focused on the football, will revolve around the Utrera road and for it, many of its locations will be redesigned, with the Jesus Navas Stadium as the backbone. That being said, whilst the work is ongoing, the players, both from the first team squad and the academy, will have to keep themselves in shape on a daily basis. For this reason, Sevilla FC understood that this part of the plan couldn't wait to be improved on.

From the end of last season, the lower levels have a new gym, located next to Pitch 3, just in front of the entrance gate to the new club offices. A multi-purpose, air-conditioned building of almost 300 square metres, with 36 metres squared of glazing, with automatic blinds that protect against the sun and heat. There is an artifical grass surface which covers the floor inside, unfilled, which allows the players to simulate what they would be expecting on the pitch. In addition, one of the sides has anchor points that allow you to perform a multitude of exercises.

All of this, equipped with exercise machines of the latest technology, that allow the fitness coaches to work on each member of the academy differently, if needs be. In fact, this instalation is also built to be used by Sevilla Atlético and the Women's team, right down to the junior teams. Also for those who need specific rehabilitation work because of injuries, for which it also opens to categories of younger age, from infantile down.

Sin embargo, si por un motivo se ha pensado en el futuro con la instalación de este gimnasio es por su versatilidad. Desde el Departamento de Instalaciones se fue muy consciente de que, pese a que se trataba de una construcción que se anticipaba a la remodelación integral de la ciudad deportiva, era necesario pensar en las necesidades del futuro más próximo. Por ello, el gimnasio tiene la capacidad de ser desplazado en su integridad dentro del recinto para ubicarlo, próximamente, donde así lo demanden las nuevas necesidades de jugadores y técnicos. Y es que en el Sevilla FC se tiene muy presente la importancia del futuro.

However, the instalation of this gym was built with the future in mind because of its versatility. Ever since the Department for Infrastructure realised that, due to the work that will be done on the training ground as a whole, it would be necessary to think about the needs of the future beforehand. For this reason, the gym can be moved, in whole, within the premises. It just goes to show that at Sevilla FC, we are always thinking about the importance of the future.
