On Tuesday, the nominees for the 14th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards were announced, with Sevilla FC represented in two categories. For just the second time ever, the club will be in the running for two awards at the ceremony. In 2020, Sevilla FC was nominated for best men's club, a nomination that has been repeated this time out, and then-in-charge Julen Lopetegui for best coach. For the upcoming event, José Castro has received recognition in the best president category, an award for which he will compete with his counterparts from Manchester City, Benfica, Napoli, Bayern Munich, RC Lens, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Yassine Bono, now plying his trade in Saudi Arabia, was also nominated, the Moroccan in contention for the best goalkeeper award, largely due to his exceptional performances in the first half of 2023, when he was at Sevilla FC. The Globe Soccer Awards ceremony will be held on the 19th January 2024 at the Atlantis Hotel, Dubai.
