Örjan Nyland's name continues to be a given for the Norwegian head coach, Stale Solbakken, who has chosen Nyland as first-choice goalkeeper in each and every international match in 2023. In fact, the goalkeeper has once again been called up for the upcoming international break in September, bringing the league campaign to a halt on the weekend of the 9th and 10th of next month. The Norwegian national team have two games during the break, the first being a friendly against Jordan on the 7th at the Ullevall Stadion in Oslo. Five days later, on the 12th, the Norwegians are back in action against Georgia.
The second of Norway's games is a qualifier for next year's European championship. Norway find themselves in Group A, currently topped by Scotland with 12 points. Georgia sits joint-second with Norway on four points (Georgia has played a game less). Spain are in fourth with three points and 2 games less, whereas Cyprus foot the group with zero points.
