Pablo Blanco concluded with moving words the ceremony to celebrate him as the 11th member of Sevilla FC's Hall of Fame, an act that brought together many people in the suite of Ramón Sáncehz-Pizjuán, overwhelming the protagonist of the day: I couldn't even imagine having the number of people that are here today,' he began, after breaking off to express his gratitude for two people in particular. 'Today I want to single out our president Roberto Alés, because you're the one most responsible for us being where we are today. And Rafael Carrión, who believed in me when I need it most,' he said.

And he continued: 'You bring me so much joy, you can't measure the kindness that I've received here today. I'm overwhelmed.' After which he addressed his former teammate and friend Daniel Bertoni: ' When he arrived, we thought that we would be champions just because of him. I remember that he said to us..."Every time I try a one-two, the two never comes"... it was impossible to play like him,' he looked back humorously.
He maintained the same tone as he spoke of his reputation as a hardman on the pitch: 'We played back in the day when football was a bit rougher. And then, off the pitch, we would see each other and have a chat about it. I had a reputation of being a bit rough... but I would say that I just stood still and it was my opponents that pushed against my elbow... But it wasn't just me, that team had virtue, courage, heart, substance... We didn't have the luck f winning the titles that the current generation has. So let's continue to enjoy our team's success, and let's hope that we'll be first in the table at the next international break.'
