Marcos Acuña, Joan Jordán and Iván Rakitic offered their thoughts after the derby win. Firstly it was Acuña who assessed what happened in the Villamarín as the first goalscorer on the night saying that "I caught it as it came to me and luckily it went in and helped to open the scoring, then everything was us. We came to play our game. We did what he had been practicing in the week and we knew how to play against them and we tried to always have possession. The first half was nearly all us and the second even more so."

In turn, Jordán focused more on the analysis saying that "the game was played out as we wanted it to, not letting anything up from the first minute and causing damage. I am very happy with the three points for our fans who after Tuesday deserve some joy, they really deserve it and their families. We needed a game like this and we found ourselves away from home. What better a scenario than this! We knew the game plan very well and we were very rigorous in the game and very happy with the win."

The last player to speak Ivan Rakitic highlighted that "Monchi told us that it was his 50th derby and he enjoyed it as if it much as the first. We did an incredible job and with this victory, it gives us a lot of strength heading forward." Also, he highlighted what the victory against Betis means: "When you play with one more player and you score a goal things change but in the first half things changed a lot and I am happy with how we dealt with them. To be able to play for the team in my heart and with the captain's armband, to defend my people is something that makes me very proud. I really wanted to help and to play well and I think that it has been a very good night. I hope all the Sevilla fans enjoy it because tonight we are also going to and from now on, although there is an international break, we will continue working really hard in all competitions."
