This weekend the tenth Salvi de Torres memorial tournament (a seven-a-side competition) was held. It was organised by a Sevilla supporters' club - 'la Peña Sevillista Puerta Osario' - to pay tribute to Salvi de Torres, an associate of Sevilla FC, 'Fiel de Nervión' and founder and director of the 'Peña Sevillista Biri-Biri' supporters' club in the seventies and eighties.
The tournament, which was played on the pitches of the Salesianos de la Trinidad school, also saw the attendance of Biri-Biri to will the players on. The 'Peña Sevillista Puerta Osario' team ran out winners, taking advantage of the presence of Antoñito in their side - who still showed his sublime quality despite passing years.
Beyond the result, the important thing was to remember an exceptional fan, Salvador de Torres, who died a decade ago after suffering a brain haemorrhage during the final minutes of Sevilla FC vs Espanyol. De Torres lived and breathed Sevilla FC and supported the side right until the end in the centre of the 'Voladizo de Gol Norte' stand.
