SAMPAOLI: "WHEN THE TEAM WERE ON THE SAME PAGE, THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE"

Jorge Sampaoli acknowledged the difficulties in beating FC Copenhagen, but highlighted his players' reaction after the half time break: "It was a very tough and close match. When the team got on the same page, they took advantage. We didn't make any progress in the first half but we solved that in the second half. Our opponents could have equalised but we ended up winning pretty clearly."

 The team had to win at any cost: "We hadn't won a game at home yet. Winning in the Champions League, generating the possibility of staying in Europe, was massive." On En-Nesyri, he commented that "he had a hamstring problem and we'll see how serious it is." And now, looking ahead to Rayo: "Every game will be like this. We're coming off the back of a long run of games, but we hope to be in good shape for Saturday's game."
