Sergi Gómez stopped by the post-match interview area after the big win against Akhisarspor: 'We're pleased. We came from a defeat at the Camp Nou and we don't like to lose. Today, it was important to win at home and we stood tall at all times, competing well and getting a convincing result. One of the key factors today was the fact that we have a deep squad. Those that hadn't been playing as much gave 200% and kept running until the 92nd minute.'
The Turkish team came to the Nervión sitting at the bottom of their league, but Sergi emphasised on his own team's performance: 'There are better and worse opponents, but when they come here they give everything and come out highly motivated. At the end of the day, they're a team in the First Division and they come here to compete. It's an opportunity for them to play in this setting, but we didn't give them half an inch of breathing space.'
To finish, the defender reviewed the state of the group and looked towards the future. 'We're happy but there are still matches left to play. It's good to win like this, but we have to continue winning. We know that after every break there's a new period with a lot of games to play. We're already in one of those periods right now and we have to keep working like we did today so that more good things come our way.'
