SERGI GÓMEZ: 'WE'RE AWARE OF THE IMPORTANCE OF THE MATCH'

'We're motivated and prepared to do what it takes to go through to the next round,' explained the Sevilla centre-half

Sergi Gómez, Sevilla FC's defender, accompanied Pablo Machín in the press conference ahead of the encounter with FC Krasnodar: 'We're aware of the importance of the match, we know that it's a final and that only a win is good enough. We're motivated and prepared to do what's necessary,' said the Catalan. 'We came back from Valencia frustrated because of that goal in the last minute but tomorrow is another game and we're capable of dealing with it as we should,' he added.

'We weren't able to secure qualification before we got to the last match but we need to go through. There are no easy opponents and teams that you should beat comfortably on paper are never that way once you're out on the pitch,' elaborated the centre-back on the fact that the team are yet to have secured qualification.

With respect to his individual situation and the dressing room, Sergi Gómez commented that 'I feel good, touch wood that I continue to avoid any injuries because you never know when they might come. I'm happy with how I've adapted and my performances, and after tomorrow I want us to be able to continue playing matches in Europe. Inside the dressing room, all the focus is on Krasnodar and nothing else.'
