SEVILLA FC, NUMBER THREE IN THE TOP 8 FOR THE MOST UEFA COEFFICIENT POINTS IN 19/20

Now that this atypical and historic 19/20 season has come to an end for football in general and for Sevilla FC in particular, which ended with the feat of lifting the sixth UEFA Europa League in Cologne against Inter, the club from Nervión continues to reap the benefits and some very positive news in the higher echelons of European football.

After the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League concluded, the organisation itself has updated the points and rankings it awards to the teams at the end of each year according to their participations, which, in addition to leaving Sevilla FC in eighth place on the continental scene, highlighted that the Blanquirrojos were the third highest-scoring team in the top eight this season, behind only the two Champions League finalists, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, and fourth in total, with RB Leipzig earning 27.000 points this season.

In 19/20 Sevilla FC picked up double their 18/19 points tally

With a points total of 26.000 this season after winning the UEL in Germany, logically, they have picked up more points than any Spanish side this season. The points tally is also double the total of 13.000 from last season, and beats the 23.000 points picked up in the 2015/16 season. 

Another way to highlight the magnificent campaign from Julen Lopetegui's squad since the season started all the way back in August, over a year ago, as the pandemic delayed the end of the season until 21st August, where Sevilla would round off a sensational season.
