MENDILIBAR: "THE GOOD THING ABOUT THIS RESULT IS WE CANNOT SPECULATE AND HAVE TO WIN AT HOME"

José Luis Mendilibar appeared before the media following the draw away to Juventus. On the tie at the Juventus Stadium, the Sevilla head coach wished to remain positive despite the final blow coming from the Italian side as they scored the equaliser: "We have to focus on the whole match, not just the last play. It's a real shame that they score like that, but these things happen, it has happened and I have to think about the effort of the players throughout the 90 minutes, where we had a great first half. In the second half we probably didn't do enough to make them feel threatened. Our plan was to keep putting pressure on them from the top of the pitch, but regaining possession cost us and we were having to defend with a low block, whether that be because we were tired or because Juventus kept on coming at us".

The man from the Basque Country was also asked about Lucas Ocampos' fitness, who he said will probably need to rest: "Lucas' injury hasn't been aggravated in some way. He thought that he was alright, but his muscle was tightening up and he asked for the change. He is going to have to rest for three or four days to see if he can feature in the return match."

To close, he spoke about the match next week, placing his attention firmly on the need to win given the result in Italy: "We are going to be in a similar game to today but with the fans on our side. The good thing that I take away from this is that, with this result, we cannot speculate and have to go out to win. So that's exactly what we will do."
