Bryan Gil, Gonzalo Montiel and Rafa Mir starred in the victory against Villarreal CF. With regard to the result on the Sunday of Feria in Nervión, Bryan Gil noted how it was the end to a great week, putting immense value on the feel-good atmosphere at the club: "It has been an amazing week. Today we scored in the last minute to top off a perfect week, one which we couldn't have dreamt of happening in the way it has. Today was tricky, after the joy from Thursday, all of the changes to the side... we all slotted in and that is what carried us to victory. The squad is brilliant, we are all performing at a level which the coach expects from us and the goal was the icing on the cake... the Sánchez-Pizjuán always does its bit and that helps us to achieve what we are doing at the minute. I think that there has been a change in the intensity of the team, we are ruthless up top and hopefully we can continue in this spirit."
Gonzalo Montiel spoke less about the match itself, but rather its importance to help the squad maintain their rich vein of form: "I am happy for the team because we deserve this victory, but we have got to keep on going. The team is training so that we keep on getting better and good results are now coming our way. We have got to continue being humble and making sacrifices. Thursday was very good and we have got to keep this up. En-Nesyri is a great player and he deserves what is happening to him right now, and Rafa Mir also deserved that goal, he always trains hard and today he bore the fruits of that. Today was a difficult match against a rival and we are happy because we played well and got a good result. We made an impressive start and then in the second half it was a bit calmer, before we got what we deserved right at the end. I am also happy for the coach because of the results we are getting, and now our focus turns to Bilbao which will be a difficult match and we need to keep on growing as a team. The fans are always loud and push us."
Rafa Mir: "Ahora todo se ve de otra manera"
To finish, Rafa Mir, who returned to the starting lineup and scored the first goal of the evening, showed how happy he was with the match this evening: "I shot the ball with a lot of anger, I am happy to have been able to score this goal and help the side claim a very important victory. Hard work pays off and suddenly we are getting the results which our work deserves, and we have to keep this up. I keep on working hard whether I play or not. I am happy for all of the people that have suffered during these months and things are now more positive... when you do the basics right and everything is put in its place, it is easier to be successful. The Sánchez-Pizjuán is spectacular these days, and we have to thank them for everything they do."
