LUCAS OCAMPOS: "TODAY WAS TOUGH, BUT WE ARE PUTTING A GREAT STRING OF RESULTS TOGETHER"

Lucas Ocampos, Marko Dmitrovic and Papu Gómez spoke to the media after the victory against Athletic Club. On Thursday's result in San Mamés, the only goalscorer on the night was the first to speak, showing his happiness: "We are putting a great string of results together, today was tough but the important thing was that we won and we can go home happy. Athletic are a strong team with great players and a crowd that puts a lot of pressure on the opposition, but we were to get through it. The coach is giving us stability and we want to keep on going because some great moments will come. I am also happy with the goal because it helps the team."  

Marko Dmitrovic, the goalkeeper on the night, spoke about keeping a clean sheet and the position team finds itself in after this latest victory: "We have suffered a lot, but I don't think that they had many clear opportunities. We weren't at our best, but we are in good form. We can't relax though, we need to kick on. Since the coach arrived, he has made it clear how he wants us to play and train on a daily basis. It is working, there is a good atmosphere. There have been several games we haven't one even though we deserved to, and today we were able to score. When you are able to keep a clean sheet, it shows what you are doing is paying off and gives you more confidence." 

To close, Papu Gómez spoke about the emotions amongst the group: "The most important thing is that Sevilla is getting back to being competitive, like it has been in the years before. We are competitive against everyone, and we are playing with intensity and enjoyment. The victory today was important and maybe we left it a little late, but the team is doing well. The squad has some quality players and we are being more competitive, and I hope we are able to see this through to the end of the season. We have to take one step at a time, when we got ahead of ourselves we failed, and so we just need to focus on each match as it comes. The goal is to try and win every game that is left and get as far as we can in the Europa League."
